The year of 4K was so 2016, am I right? At least – that’s what Dell in CES2017 tells me. Their innovation is super crazy recently. Dell recently announced the 5K monitor, and now they’re back with the 8K monitor. That’s just a mind-blowing amount of pixels!
Just to clear out some doubts – 8K resolution means 7980×4320 pixels. That’s 4 times the amount of pixels of 4K screens, and 16 times the resolution of a 1080p screen that most of us are using now. That’s the amount of pixels packed in their brand new Dell UltraSharp 32 Ultra HD 8K monitor – the world’s first 32-inch 8K display. I know, the name is a mouthful – but those pixels are pure eye candy that gives everyone a sugar rush.
Dell also showed off other things, such as the Dell Canvas, their Precision All-in-One with the “best sound of any AIO in the market”, their most powerful VR-ready mobile workstation with the Dell Precision 7720, and world’s first wireless charging 2-in-1 for the ultimate “no-wires” experience with the Latitude 7285.
Honestly, I’m most interested in their brand new 12-inch Latitude 7285 laptop – the first ever to charge wirelessly with the WiTricity technology. Combined with the WiGig wireless dock, the Latitude 7285 can just be plopped on the WiGig + WiTricity dock to being charging wirelessly, and connected to all of the other peripherals – including external displays.
In other smaller news, the Dell XPS, Inspiron, Alienware, OptiPlex, Latitude, and Precision lineup of PCs have been upgraded with Intel’s latest Kaby Lake processors, USB-C with Thunderbolt 3, and the latest NVIDIA/AMD graphics. Apparently, even Dell monitors are being refreshed too.
And guess what – there are already prices and expected availability dates for all the new Dell products. check it out here!
As most of them aren’t complete for now, we’ll definitely revisit this table and update it in the coming months(?).
