Setel is taking one more tap out of the fuelling process with a new AI-powered feature that lets Malaysians activate their fuel pumps simply by speaking.
Called Voice Fuelling, the new feature is currently in beta and builds on Setel’s existing One-tap Fuelling experience. Instead of opening the app and tapping through the process, users can simply say their pump number and let the app handle the rest.
Better yet, Voice Fuelling supports English, Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin and Tamil, so users can interact with the feature in the language they’re most comfortable speaking.
Once the feature is enabled in the Setel app, the process is pretty straightforward. After arriving at a PETRONAS station, users can state their pump number, and Setel’s AI processes the transaction using their preferred payment method and fuelling preferences.
The feature is designed for a fairly broad range of motorists, including everyday drivers, motorcyclists, fleet operators and e-hailing drivers. PETRONAS dealers and ground crew will also be helping customers get familiar with Voice Fuelling through on-ground activations as the beta experience rolls out.
In line with this rollout, Setel is also offering some incentives for new users, such as x Mesra Rewards points, capped at 500 points, after downloading the app, registering and verifying their account, then fuelling at least 1 litre. The offer is valid once per user and applies to RON95, RON97 and Diesel, including BUDI95 and BUDI Diesel.
Existing users can also access additional savings and rewards through Setel Savers, while the Refer a Friend programme offers Setel Credit and prizes. The Full Thank campaign will also continue from October through the end of the year.
