In recent years, Apple has been trying hard to make the iPad and its associated iPadOS as feature-rich and powerful as possible to hopefully become the only device you need to do most productive tasks and the new iPadOS 15 is going to take it to the next level with all of them being previewed at WWDC 2021. Let’s run through some of the important ones.
Quick Access to Split View and Slide Over
A new multitasking menu will now appear at the top of all apps that let users enter Split View or Slide Over mode with just a simple tap. Moreover, while using the Split View function you can head back to the Home Screen at any time to get to your next app even faster than ever and this new function dedicated to multitasking is also available for apps that run multiple windows at once like Safari, Pages, and Email. Additionally, those who are using the external keyboard can also access both Split View and Slide Over through a series of new shortcuts.
Widgets and Apps for Full-On Personalization
Users can finally place widgets at the Home Screen to get more information at once out of the big screen estate and at the same time, Apple has implemented a new larger widget size that can showcase videos, pictures, music, games, and more. The newly added App Library will help u smartly organize and categorize all apps for easy access from the Dock.
Impulse Note Jotting and Easily Filing with Quick Note and Tags
As the name suggested, Quick Note allows you to jot down anything in mind while running concurrently with any app to realize the scenario of writing down something in impulse while the Tags function organizes notes into searchable unique terms which are mentionable for collaborators to refer to and catch on to the latest updates within a cooperative environment.
Code in Modernity with Swift Playground 4
The latest Swift Playground 4 includes all the tools needed to build iOS and iPadOS apps and instantly submit them to App Store for review in general. The best thing about it is the code can be previewed instantly for live changes while the cross support for macOS is also supported through XCode for Mac.
