In Xiaomi’s recent announcement, they also announced the new Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE. It’s a mouthful of gibberish but it’s something that we have to live with. This is a simple phone but it is actually pretty decent – so in today’s review, let’s go through what you need to know about this phone.
Design
Let’s start off with the design of this phone. It’s very thin and also lightweight to the point where it feels like I’m not holding anything. This phone also has a lot of different color options – and the one that we have here is the white color – which I think it will blend in nicely with someone’s marble kitchen countertop.
It’s using a matte finish though, so I’m okay with the feel – just not the kitchen countertop design.
Performance
Okay, time for the performance. This Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE is equipped with the Snapdragon 778G chipset with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage and overall, we can run games on this phone without issues – including Genshin Impact. I do enjoy the overall gaming experience too since the Snapdragon 778G is very powerful.
Though with such a slim body, it reaches that thermal limit of 46°C easily.
But hey – I can still get about 50-ish FPS at low graphical settings so it’s still good.
Screen
It’s a pretty standard 6.55-inch AMOLED screen with up to 90Hz refresh rate. I mean, the screen looks good and the colors are fine, so there’s nothing to praise or complain about.
One thing I do prefer is that Xiaomi seems to be moving away from the horrendous under display fingerprint scanners and opted for power buttons with fingerprint scanners instead. Screw under display fingerprint scanners.
Cameras
Then comes the cameras. Yeah, we have a total of 3 different cameras here and to me personally, they all can take pretty good pictures overall.

Battery life & charging
Then comes the battery life. Coming in with a decently sized 4,250mAh battery, it can last for quite a long time. It can go nearly 14 hours in our test and that means it can potentially go up to 2 days of battery life in just one charge.
The charging time is not that special, though. It comes with a 33W charger in the box, and it charges from 15% to 100% in about an hour’s time. That’s it.
Software – MIUI
It’s still the same MIUI just like any other Xiaomi phones that we reviewed previously, so check out any of our previous reviews instead. It’s still having all the same bugs and issues – and it can only go up to 30fps for screen recording in case you’re wondering.
Price
Finally – the price. The Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE is starting at the price of RM1,199 which I think is pretty okay in terms of affordability. I think in some ways, the new Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE is better than the Redmi Note 10 Pro too – hence that price premium.
So yeah, it’s a pretty decent phone overall and I can recommend this phone as an alternative to the Redmi Note 10 Pro.
