Introducing – the ROG Phone 6. And yes, all of the leaks about this phone are accurate. It comes with a massive cooler this time around and a surprise to no one, it also uses the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Seriously, it should’ve been named the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+.

Here is a quick video summarizing everything we need to know about the ROG Phone 6.

The gist of it is simple – the new ROG Phone 6 comes in two colors, black or white. The base version has a glossy glass back. It still retains the ROG logo at the back of the phone that is lit up with RGB, and it looks good.

As for the top-of-the-line ROG Phone 6 Pro, it will have the most amount of RAM and the most amount of storage too. The performance remain the same across both the Pro and non-Pro variants.

It also comes with a frosted glass finish and it is only available in white color and has something called ROG Vision.

It’s pretty much just a strip of OLED display at the back of the phone but we can customize to display whatever we want via the Armoury Crate software.

There are a few major changes done to the ROG Phone 6. The chipset – as mentioned earlier, has been upgraded to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, but it the chipset location has also been shifted to the middle of the phone. That means the chipset will make direct contact with the new AeroActive Cooler 6 at the back of the phone.

The cooling system inside has also been buffed as it now has a much better thermal paste (I assume it is?) and also more vapor chambers to wick heat away from the SoC faster than ever before.

Since the SoC is in the middle, the ROG Phone 6 finally upgraded to a dual-cell battery design. To most people, this wouldn’t matter – but a dual-cell battery design will allow much faster charging speeds compared to a single-cell, especially at higher wattages.

The size and shape of the phone, the AirTriggers, and audio jack remain the same as the last generation – and even the screen is the same too. The top and bottom bezels of the screen are also the same because ROG is the one and only phone that retains front-facing stereo speakers.

Also, the accessory port in the shape of pogo pins at the side of the phone is now gone. There is only a high-speed USB-C port there. That means your AeroActive Cooler 5 will not work on the ROG Phone 6.
