Today is a new product announcement day for Nanlite as they reveal the latest additions to the Forza 60, Forza 300, and Forza 500 series LED spotlights to provide a better lighting source for studios and film production teams.

NANLITE v2 Launch - 05

Let’s take a look at the Forza 60 series consisting of Forza 60 II and 60B II. Coming in as the 2nd generation product, Nanlite took all the suggestions they could from the 1st generation Forza 60 and created a better successor in terms of interaction, control, noise management, and more.

Only as big as a standard DLSR camera, the super compact form factor is capable of outputting some strong light source at 3,420lux/2,096lux@1m illuminance levels. When switched to either Maximum or Constant output modes, the Forza 60B II can maintain a uniform shine towards its subject while adjusting CCT from 2700K to 6500K.

Both the 60 II and 60B II is also rated for an excellent color rendition with their CRI and TLCI number sitting at 96 and 98 respectively and special effects are packed within them with support of smart control via 2.4G wireless, Bluetooth, DMX/RDM, or the simplest on-board switches and toggles.

Noise reduction is also part of their charm as at almost full operating capacity, it is only at 20dBA so there’s no need to worry about fan noise captured by the microphones. Notable features also include the iconic FM mount, included updates for accessories utilizing the Bowens mount, multiple battery options, and easy firmware upgrade via USB found on the bottom of the lamp head.

While the Forza 60 series covers the 60W market, the 300W and 500W also got all the same improvements as well in the form of the Forza 300/300B II and 500/500B II. Those looking for high-powered units can just take them for a spin straight away. The brand also tuned some little things here and there to make the general experience much better such as no intensity loss during the addition of bi-color functionality.

Aside from that, they also contain a built-in W(RG)/WW(RG) color mixing system with G/M±80 tunability for on-the-fly adjustment to go with any environment. Optimized chassis design also managed to cut the size of the second-gen’s control unit for the Forza 300 series by 37% and 16% for the Forza 500 family.

As they require more power to drive, they can be powered by a dual power supply of 14.4V-14.8V batteries simultaneously for extra mobility while the extended DC (3M) and AC (6M) power cables will serve static studios just as good. Accessories for them include an umbrella mount found with the Bowens mounting spot, power cable extensions, and more.
