With every other Synology announcement being their NAS products, today’s reveal is going to be a bit different as their latest rope-cutting ceremony is about the new BC500 and TC500 security cameras.

Synology BC500 TC500

The main difference between the BC500 and TC500 is just the shape and design where the former is an elongated square head suitable for walls while the latter is for ceiling mount like the usual ones.

But anyway, both of them are built and operate exactly the same, featuring a 5MP sensor that can record 2880×1620 resolution at 30FPS while having a 110° horizontal viewing angle. They also can take a beating against harsh weather thanks to the IP67 rating.

Night-time surveillance is also an easy job for them as their night vision range can extend up to 30 meters and has multi-exposure HDR capability to monitor everything from indoor to outdoor capturing everything from corridors and hallways to warehouses and garages.

Synology Smart AI Detection

The hardware is only half of the story for the BC500 and TC500 duo as they also runs Synology’s powerful AI detection algorithm that can provide timely and accurate alerts by notifying its owners what sort of object has come into range such as people or vehicle and even analyze their position to see whether they are just passing or really trying to intrude your lawn.

And as part of their in-house surveillance camera products, they do not require separate purchase of Surveillance Station device licenses so you can streamline the setup process within hours or even minutes.

Availability

The Synology BC500 is available in select regions starting today while moving slowly to other parts of the world as well. On the other hand, the TC500 will launch next month.
