Dell Technologies’ latest delivery comes in the form of software updates, particularly for its high-density modern-era storage Dell PowerMax offering.
The new PowerMaxOS 10.1 release aims to pump up the performance-per-watt improvement that leads to a lower carbon footprint, energy-efficient operations, and a more manageable operating cost.
This includes a variety of optimizations like dynamic data mobility, relocation of workloads into different arrays, improved data deduplication, 5:1 data reduction-powered compression technology, and more.
The same round of updates also brought forward the Zero Trust Policy into Dell PowerMax systems by adding Transport Layer Security v1.3, Cyber Intrusion Detection for z Systems (zCID), and Anomaly Detection in I/O workflow alongside Ignition Key Support and Data Sanitizer features.
In terms of AI-powered automation, Dell Technologies is implementing it into digital health check routine to proactively pinpoint potential optimization with predictive analysis while the CloudIQ AIOps is getting augments in the operational, energy, and security department that leads to forecasting, notification, recommendations, and corrective actions regarding capacity, configuration, and cyber protection.
Lastly, automated storage provisioning is done with REST APIs for quicker processing time and effort in addition to software-defined NVMe/TCP utility for storage resource automation cutting the setup time by up to 44%.
