Apple is continuing their strong yearly tradition of launching (PRODUCT)RED products, supporting Global Fund’s efforts in combating HIV/AIDS, and all the funds are then used to aid sub-Saharan Africa. Apple has consistently supported the cause by allocating a portion of the proceeds from (PRODUCT)RED products to the Global Fund.
Throughout the years, Apple’s commitment has resulted in a remarkable achievement, with its customers contributing over a quarter of a billion dollars. These funds have played a pivotal role in providing access to antiretroviral treatment, HIV testing, and aiding HIV-positive mothers in preventing transmission to their infants.
Apple is not only focusing on financial contributions but also leveraging its platforms to raise awareness. Across its services, Apple is offering opportunities for customers to learn more about HIV/AIDS. Apple Books features a special collection of books and audiobooks amplifying diverse voices in the fight against AIDS. Apple Podcasts presents stories from activists, artists, and everyday people, delving into the history of the epidemic. On the Watch Now tab on the Apple TV app, a collection of shows and movies highlights the human cost of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Apple Music subscribers can access a curated selection of music from Africa, including artists from Mavin Records.
As part of the (RED) initiative, Apple introduces a (PRODUCT)RED aluminum case for the Apple Watch Series 9, accompanied by a matching (PRODUCT)RED Sport Band. The watch is powered by the new S9 SiP, boasting advanced health, fitness, and safety capabilities, along with exciting features such as a magical new double tap gesture and Precision Finding for iPhone.
Complementing the (PRODUCT)RED lineup are new Palette and Solar Analog watch faces, both available in red. These join a collection of specially customized watch faces, including Metropolitan, World Time, Numerals Mono, Gradient, Stripes, and Typograph, all designed to celebrate World AIDS Day.
