OPPO’s latest invention has been revealed at MWC 2024 and it is the Air Glass 3 smart eyewear.
Absolutely possible to camouflage as a regular pair of glasses, the prototype really does keep a low profile in terms of design language and it is not that far off in terms of weight too, weighing at just 50 grams.
The virtual display is tucked discreetly into the upper corner of your field of vision and to use it, a light tap on the frame activates the AI voice assistant which readily accepts voice commands through its built-in four microphones.
As for which LLM is powering the AI assistant, OPPO’s answer is the AndesGPT which is trained in-house so how capable it is we aren’t so sure yet.
Availability-wise, it is hard to say if it will make it out of China given its track record of keeping the very best of its products sealed within the walls of the country.
