Apple just announced the new iPad Air with updated specs, running on the M3 chip now and also designed to take advantage of the suite of Apple Intelligence features. It’s nearly twice as fast as the M1 predecessor and also up to 3.5x faster than the A14 Bionic model – making it a great choice for those who are looking for a new iPad.
It’s available in two sizes, 11-inch and 13-inch, and also has a new Magic Keyboard that offers enhanced versatility and functionality.
The M3 chip is much better for high-end gaming and also has an improved Neural Engine inside, which is 60% faster than the M1. It can use tools like the Image Playground for generating visuals, Genmoji for personalized emojis, and Writing Tools for refining text with AI-powered suggestions. Siri also sees significant improvements, with better conversational abilities and deeper integration across iPadOS 18.
Additionally, Apple Intelligence introduces new photo-editing capabilities, such as the Clean Up tool for removing unwanted objects in images. The Notes app also benefits from features like Image Wand, which turns rough sketches into polished illustrations, and enhanced transcription tools for voice recordings.
Privacy remains a top priority, with Apple Intelligence using on-device processing for most tasks. For more complex AI models, Private Cloud Compute ensures secure cloud processing without storing user data or compromising privacy.
The Magic Keyboard for the iPad Air will now feature a larger built-in trackpad and 14-key function row at the top for better usability. It will also feature the same magnetic attachment and an aluminium hinge with USB-C charging ports. The prices are RM1,299 for the 11-inch model and RM1,399 for the 13-inch version.
The iPad Air also supports the latest Apple Pencil Pro, offering advanced capabilities like haptic feedback and squeeze gestures. These enhancements make note-taking and digital art more intuitive and responsive than ever before.

The iPad Air with M3 is available in blue, purple, starlight, and space grey, with configurations starting at 128GB up to 1TB. Prices are as follows:
- 11-inch iPad Air: RM2,799 (Wi-Fi) / RM3,499 (Wi-Fi + Cellular)
- 13-inch iPad Air: RM3,699 (Wi-Fi) / RM4,399 (Wi-Fi + Cellular)
- Education Pricing: Starts at RM2,569 for the 11-inch and RM3,469 for the 13-inch model.
