The world of sports and tech has come together recently for a special collab where the World Table Tennis (WTT) organization has teamed up with PICO and Intel to launch the PICO x Intel WTT E-Smash 2025, a full-on VR table tennis competition that’s going to run alongside China Smash 2025 at Beijing’s Shougang Park.
While table tennis is still a long-running favourite in China, VR esports are quickly becoming one of the hottest frontiers in gaming; therefore, the latest partnership combines WTT’s popularity to spread the news fast with PICO’s immersive VR setup, with Intel handling the computing muscle to make sure everything runs smoothly worldwide. The idea is to create a competitive ecosystem where pros, gamers, and fans can all jump in.
Now for the details of the e-competition, it is done within the Eleven Table Tennis app well known for its super precise physics, and global registration kicks off August 25 through September 2, online qualifiers run from September 4 to 14, and then the big finals take place October 5 right at Shougang Park, side by side with the China Smash finals.
And if you’re around Beijing between September 25 and October 5, you can actually step into PICO’s dedicated VR zone at Shougang Park for ten days of interactive experiences.
So yeah, if you have the moves and wanna win some nice prizes, do join in for this special occasion.
