A few days ago I was in the heart of the city with  walking directions shown on Google Maps on my phone. Being a fan of the free maps service by Google, I was jealous of what the United States was getting – the 3D maps, debuting with the Motorola Xoom together about two years ago.

3D maps, certainly are useful to see which part of the building you are facing, especially for those symmetrical buildings. This is different from Google Earth though, as Earth offers you exploration but not navigations or directions.

Accidentally, I discovered that Google is building the 3D maps in Malaysia, first off with some of the major buildings in the heart of the hottest places in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

As far as I can find, 3D maps is only available for Pavillion KL (3.148853,101.713405), Suria KLCC (3.157643,101.712188) and the KL Tower (3.152828,101.703832). These links can view all the three places in 3D, but the panning is only possible on mobile.
