Modern mobile gaming apps can virtually replicate the experience enjoyed on PC or console with live dealers, responsive games, and expansive features. This means you’re going to need a phone with features that match your home PC.
While you don’t necessarily need a mobile gaming rig to play a few slot machines, you do want a decent-sized display with a reasonable refresh rate, and if you’re into live dealer games and other immersive iGaming experiences, you will benefit from one of the best gaming smartphones on the market.
Mobile iGaming Requirements
More and more iGaming sites offer their services and games via mobile apps. This means you can enjoy mobile gaming as well as playing trusted Malaysian casino sites for real money: sites that, according to casino expert Wilna van Wyk, offer games like Sic Bo, virtual cockfights, and live dealer games.
While these games don’t typically need the same high level of processing power as something like Call of Duty or CS:GO, some can place heavy demands on mobile phones, and you’ll certainly benefit from decent battery life, an adequately sized screen, and good refresh rates.
1. Samsung Galaxy A56
The Samsung Galaxy A56 is a budget Samsung phone and while it lacks the same high-quality processors and RAM of its more powerful siblings, it is still more than adequate to play most mobile casino games. It will also do a decent job of running live dealer games and because its processor doesn’t have the same excessive demands, battery life is also good.
2. OnePlus 13R
The OnePlus 13R is a reasonably affordable phone in the OnePlus line. It isn’t quite the flagship end of the line but it does have excellent battery life and an excellent display, which is pretty much everything you’ll need for casino gaming on the go. It doesn’t enjoy the greatest software support, and iGamers who also want a decent camera will be left disappointed, though.
3. ZTE Nubia RedMagic 9S Pro
ZTE Nubia RedMagic 9S Pro is designed as a gaming phone, which means it may be more than you really need to play some roulette or enjoy a few hands of live poker. But it has a powerful processor, ample RAM, and exceptional cooling. It’s another handset with limited software updates, though, and not everybody will like the boxy physical design.
4. Asus ROG Phone 9 Pro
If you’ve got a bigger budget and you enjoy playing the very latest games, including anything mobile iGaming can throw at a phone, the Asus ROG Phone 9 Pro is powerful, has exceptional battery life, and it works as a perfectly serviceable phone when you’re not gaming. But it is pricey and its operating system updates are woefully lacking. Happily, the ROG 9 Pro includes several updates over its predecessor, including improved cooling, which means that, despite the more powerful processor, it performs even better for long gaming sessions.
5. Black Shark 5 Pro
The Black Shark 5 Pro is a reasonably affordable handset that has a number of features geared specifically at gamers, including:
- Magnetic pop-up triggers
- Chip cooling system
- 144Hz OLED display
- Good-quality stereo speakers
- 120W charging
A lot of these features are beneficial. However, the triggers are somewhat cumbersome and give the phone an odd design. The chip cooling system might do a decent job of cooling the powerful chip but it dumps the heat externally so the Black Shark 5 Pro can get really hot in the hands. And, the battery isn’t great, even compared to other phones at a similar price point.
6. iPhone 16 Pro Max
The iPhone 16 Pro Max is a great all-round phone. It’s unlikely you’ll buy it purely for its gaming chops, but it does hold up well in this regard. It has a powerful chip, its display is more than good enough for iGaming, and it has a good battery life. While its size means it has a generous screen, it can be quite cumbersome in the hand, though, which especially becomes a problem after a few hours of intensive gaming.
7. Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra
The Galaxy S25 Ultra from Samsung is similar, in a lot of respects to the iPhone. It’s a good all-round phone that is more than capable of efficiently and effectively running iGaming apps and even live dealer games. But, it does get heavy, and it is expensive if you don’t need all of the advanced features.
8. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6
If screen real estate is what you look for in an iGaming phone, you will struggle to beat the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6. Foldable phones haven’t set the mobile phone world alight, but the Fold 6 is an improvement over its predecessors, being lighter, thinner, and more durable with a better display.
