It’s not surprising to see that there’s a shift in people’s lifestyle, and in turn it affects and creates the supply and demand of new product lines, and then changes the core fundamentals of an office. How and why? Because employees are humans too, and they change their lifestyle. With their lifestyle changed, they want their work to adapt to how they want to live life.
Logitech Malaysia here had polled over 400 responds and crunched all the numbers together and reveals some interesting facts, and confirms what I personally believe in. Here comes some rapid share (not the file-hosting site) of information!
- 70% says they have worked away from the office
- >30% are guilty of working on-the-go
- 31% claimed they worked while in the car or in public transport
- 54% preferred speed-reading over precise line-by-line reading
It’s interesting to see that the Malaysian work style is moving towards squeezing all the available time to work, even while stuck in a commute. That intrigued me the most, followed by the speed-reading as I personally have do it most of the time on Facebook. While all these are based on productivity work, here are some data gathered about their preference in terms of hardware.
- 79% prefers durability over size
- Majority said they worked on 3 or more devices at the same time (me included)
Then I guess that leads to what Logitech wants to do with these gathered data. We’ve all tried and tested and pretty much agreed that trackpads SUCKS.
