To be honest, I’m not really impressed because of the design.
Samsung is going for the “If it’s not broken, leave it” style for designing.
Remember when people used to say “iPad is a giant iPod” and “iPhone 5 is just longer”?
Samsung is no different.
However, I like that they put in a humidity sensor and the IR system. Power wise, powerful indeed. They are obviously focusing on improving the user experience rather than bringing in a totally new device. Don’t get me wrong, this is not going to be a very biased article. Continue reading and you’ll see all the facts about the new S4.

As you have noticed, Samsung’s “trademark” are round corners, curved edges and that cheap feeling plastic.

Enough being disappointed with the design. Let’s look at the guts because there must be at least some exciting stuff here.
Hardware
The Display
The 5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED is pretty impressive. From videos I’ve seen, it is gorgeous. With it’s 441 pixels per ince(PPI), it’s very hard to spot those individual pixels making the display so crisp and alive!
Processor and Ram
2GB of RAM is very big. As big as an average laptop have( I am on 3GB :P).
This device will be powered by….. oh wait, they did not mention what processor is under the hood. The processor will vary from region to region. That’s all we know folks. [UPDATE] The device will be powered by 1.6GHz 8-core Exynos processor, although in some regions it will ship with a 1.9GHz quad-core Snapdragon CPU.
Exciting features
IR Receiver and Transmitter
This old technology will never get old. Samsung have decided to bring back the old IR LED into the S4. Only now, instead of using it as a slow data transfer, it will be used for various stuff since the phone is running the open source OS, Android. What’s exciting is that I bet there are apps out there in the market that can use the IR LED to transform your phone into a universal remote!
Air Gesture
Why have no one thought of this before? I’ve been having problem on websites that requires me to hover without clicking it. With this new technology, I can now use my finger while acting like a mouse(??).
Hydrometer and Thermometer
Geeks will definitely love this!
Camera’s Eraser
Everybody will definitely love this piece of code. It’s like having a magical Photoshop right in your palm without having any editing skill. Basically, it can remove any object in a picture.
Conclusion
Should I buy it? Yes.
Will I buy it? No.
Because I’m so poor I’m using a Nokia 2630. If you are on iOS, you should definitely try this one out. Android just got smoother and smoother but most probably you will not like the build and design of the Samsung’s.
If you are on the S3 or something similar(no pun intended), you should consider the IR and Air Gesture. If not, stick with the current one.
