The new Samsung Galaxy S IV has not even reached the hands of any users and the rumours of the new generation Nexus phone is already here – the Nexus 5, apparently might be by LG Electronics again.
This image, by an anonymous source who claims to work for Google, says the prototype in the image above might be the final design of the phone – which I think will be great with the super thin bezel at all four sides and a centered front-facing camera!
The source claims that the new Nexus 5 will be released later on October and is currently evaluating a few prototypes from manufacturers – with one prototype by LG specifically codenamed “Megalodon”, reminds me of the Razer headphones.
The rumoured specs of the LG codenamed “Megalodon” is :
- 5.2″ OLED Display with 1920×1080 resolution
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 @ 2.3 GHz
- 3GB LPDDR3 Ram
- 16/32/64GB of internal storage
- 16MP rear camera by OmniVision (4K video recording @30FPS, 1080p video recording @60FPS, Real Time HDR & HDR video recording, optical image stabilization, BSI 2.0)
- 2.1MP front camera (1080p video recording @30FPS)
- 3300 mAh Lithium Polymer battery
- Front positioned stereo speakers
- Qualcomm RF360 (LTE 150 Mbps & HSPA+)
- Integrated DVB-T / ATSC-antenna
- Gesture like controls (navigation, zoom, etc.)
These are the things that tells me it’s not going to be true :
- The camera itself is already looking impossibly great even on paper, especially the front-facing 1080p video recording with the rear camera that’s capable of recording at 4K resolution (4096×2304) and HDR recording
- The battery is Motorola Razr DROID MAXX-sized
- Internal storage size. Google is aiming to push their cloud services for the two past devices, what makes you think 64GB will ever be available?
- Gesture-like controls. Coincidentally such rumours fly out after the Galaxy S IV was announced
But then again these are just rumours, and only time again will tell us which is true and which is not. Until then, we can only speculate.
