ASUS celebrated their chilling birthday with a cool party last Wednesday night at Slate@The Row, KL. We’re there alongside with numerous fans who took their time joined us in his historical moment too. We had a really cool time together, and we just chilled with each other. Then, winter came when ASUS announced the GX700!
The world’s first liquid-cooled laptop. It’s not only liquid-cooled of course – it does have fans to cool the laptop down whenever it’s separated from the dock. The dock itself however is the radiator.
This piece of magic right here is packed with desktop-class GPU– yes, DESKTOP CLASS. THE one and only Nvidia GeForce GTX980 graphics – of course with 8GB of VRAM. It also features Intel’s i7-6820HK mobile processor that can be overclocked to 4.0GHz, supports up to 64GB RAM at 2800MHz of DDR4 RAMs, double M.2 512GB PCIe SSDs in RAID0. It even has a 17.3-inch 1080p IPS display with NVIDIA G-Sync integrated!
Not sure why ASUS went all Crysis on the GX700 though, but okay.
The GX700 is full of surprises too. That briefcase right there – you might be thinking “what the devil is that thing doing there?“, and I know I did. ASUS packaged everything in the GX700 into a briefcase – and that’s where everything gets interesting. There’s a bunch of accessories in it, including a RoG Sica mouse – and it has two separate power bricks with two separate power ratings, as the notebook itself is 180W and the notebook + Hydro Overclocking System dock is at 330W.
You can check out the coverage over at Pokde, where they had an exclusive hands-on experience with it for a few days!
This piece of magic right here costs RM18,999 – with GST included of course.
ASUS also announced their brand spanking new desktop system – the RoG GT51 desktop.

This system is crazy – it just screams over-the-top performance, but I think it’s what defines RoG’s mantra and it’s a definite tribute to every RoG fan out there.
It features an Intel i7-6700K processor than can be overclocked to 4.6GHz, obviously thanks to its single-loop liquid cooling system. Other than that it also comes with ESS Hi-Fi grade audio with DAC + amplifier. Crazy? Yessssssssssss! There are no details on what GPU it has though, but by spying inside the system that was on display, it was running on dual SLI.
ASUS touted the aesthetics on the GT51, as it uses a turbine-like front intake, which they included some RGB LED in it to look a lot like Ironman type of arc drive thing. There are also stripes of LED along the front, which makes it really beautiful.

Pricing and availability of the GT51 is still not announced, but we expect the price to be around RM15k. Stay tuned till June 2016 for more details!
