iflix – Malaysia’s strongest online internet TV service – is already a year old! They sure had an interesting journey that led up till today, and iflix is definitely happy with everyone’s support that brought them to where they are today.
We attended the birthday celebration today too, which was a really historical moment for iflix. Ninjas were cutting invisible onions near our eyes when iflix told us all of their secrets on how they got iflix first started and had to go through multiple delays with their launch date. However, they did make it into the market on the 26th of May 2015 – exactly a year ago from today.
Maya Karin was there too – and as it turns out, she’s the ambassador and also a shareholder of iflix. Congratulations to Maya Karin – as she’s really giving her all into making iflix a success.
That said, iflix has completely grown in numbers beyond what their current office can withstand, and even their number of subscribers have skyrockets through their charts. Surprisingly, a single Malaysian consumes 115.11 minutes of content in average per day, and the most popular genre is drama, comedy comes second, and third comes Korean shows.
iFlix couldn’t run away from the digital divide still, as most of the subscribers are both the milennials and Gen-Y folks. Another interesting thing is that surprisingly, Philippines utilizes iflix the most in all statistics.
iflix also prepared two main gifts to all iflix subscribers – firstly, a list of new shows and seasons that are coming within the next few weeks and months is here:
