More precisely, 100 years worth of Methane Hydrate – solid deposit of methane gas in the sea bed.

Japan has successfully extracted the rocks to be processed into natural gas. Of course this could be used for any power generator that requires combustion or heat. Found in abundance off the shore of Japan, it is expected to last a hundred years or even beyond, with its naturally replenishing trait. This is due to the fact that one of the trove is stowed away in the area of ongoing territorial disputes between China and Japan.
