In less than 24 hours, Apple will be hosting its annual WorldWide Development Conference, and as usual, rumours have sprouted everywhere from speculators to wishful fans hoping Cupertino will make their fantasies and expectations come true.

The excitement was partly amplified by Tim Cook’s statement where he mentioned that thera are secrets in Apple that is yet to be revealed. Speculation were high on the possibility of a TV business venture while those who are more pessimistic on his ability to bring surprises suggested he will employ the same method in the new iPad, bringing retina display to the MacBooks. This coincide with the new Mountain Lion OS X10.8 where developers discovered higher resolution icons were in the preview version.

Another big expectation is iOS 6.0’s  new map function and deeper Facebook integration. There are no evidences on how this is implemented but again, expectations run high.

Here, we expect the following to be included in tonight’s conference:

  • Retina Display MacBooks with the Ivy Bridge processors
  • Redesigned MacBooks (with new buttons for OS X 10.8 features such as iMessage)
  • iOS6 preview (wont be implemented yet until iPhone 5. Upgraded SIRI has already been confirmed by Cooks)
  • New iPod (the Touch has been around for 2 years)
  • Some sort of TV show distribution (like how they did with iBooks)

From our analysis, Apple is moving  to engage its customers more, as it always has been trying to seize loyalty, especially with Samsung breathing down their neck. The S3 is brilliant and its now Apple’s move to justify its price and how the whole package of iTunes/Mac/iPhone/iPad integration premium is worth.
