What exactly is Sportify? It’s a brand new app that wants to solve one very specific problem – organizing a sports event. It can be any event – an outing with friends, a friendly match, or just wanna get a quick match with some people. With Sportify’s approach, I think this issue can finally be solved.

The entire idea is simple – it wants to simplify your experience in booking a venue and to send the invites to your friends. There are a lot of factors to be considered while planning an event, and Sportify integrates everything into a simple and easy to use interface.

Sportify

First, download the app on the App Store. Then, launch the app and find your desired sport venue. There will be a thumbnail image and alongside its location and price listed, so take your time and choose the one you want. Then, pay via credit card and you’re done!! Then, you can invite your friends over to join your booked venue, and I’m sure it’ll be an exciting outing.

There will be a matchmaking feature to let strangers join your booked venue for a friendly match. The way I see it, they’re going to use a matchmaking rank and pair you up with someone of similar skill set based on time and location. Strange, I thought MMR is best applied in competitive eSports games only.

Sportify

Whilst the entire app itself does a fairly simple amount of things for now, I can foresee that Sportify will add more features sometime soon. Split payment is already in their roadmap of features to be added. That way you can split the venue’s fare equally between each participant of that event. Fair enough.

One feature that I’d like to see is a “marketplace” to get necessities like shuttlecocks and tennis balls, then add another section for buying and selling second hand sports items.

Another feature I’d like to see is a checklist menu to see what are the list of items needed for a game to commence. For example, a badminton game needs a net, a shuttlecock, and a pair or two badminton racquets, depending on whether it’s a single or doubles game. With this checklist, you can keep track of who has extra racquet to lend to someone who forgot to bring their own, or just to make sure there are enough shuttlecocks to begin a game.
