Solar Impulse have finally made its solar powered aircraft fully functional! The development of this particular type of aircraft has been long in development but only recently it took an international flight from Switzerland to Belgium.
It does not end there. Solar Impulse is now planning to fly the craft across the USA in a five-stage transcontinental flight. The speed of the aircraft will be at 70 KM/H, making the flight last for three days. The craft will only stop every 24 hours where at each stop, it will be on display to educate the public about this new type of aircraft which will be conducted for 10 days.
This thing is flying on nothing but solar power. By 2015, Solar Impulse says that their target would be to fly around the world.
