We live in the age of ultrathins these days – and ASUS’s ZenBook series is really fantastic. We first got our minds blown when the UX305 was introduced a few years ago, and ASUS never failed to disappoint ever since. Today, they’re introducing the new ZenBook UX331UN – thin and light ultrabook with even better performance.
Here are a few key highlight points:
- Powerful and elegant 985g-light, 13.9mm-thin laptop with up to 8th Gen Intel Core i7 CPU, 512GB PCIe SSD and 8GB RAM
- Built and tested to meet the demanding MIL-STD-810G military standard, for unprecedented reliability and durability
- Slim-bezel NanoEdge wide-view 13.3″ display with wide 100% RGB color gamut; Harman Kardon audio
- Full-size keyboard, fingerprint sensor, USB-C, USB Type-A, HDMI, microSD card slot and 802.11ac Wi-Fi Master connectivity
The port selection is actually pretty important here. Even for such a thin laptop, ASUS manages to pack a USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C, two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A (very important), a HDMI port, and also a microSD card slot. Though I do wonder, why not a full-size SD card reader for that matter? That’ll make creative works with cameras on-the-go much more friendlier – no dongles!
Built with an all-metal unibody construction, the UX331UN weighs in at only 985 grams and 13.9mm thin. Even at such a thin and light form factor, ASUS put the UX331UN through the MIL-STD 810G military standards. The new UX331UN comes in two configurations, both with different prices:
| Model Name | SPEC | SRP (RM) |
| GST Incl. | ||
| UX331U-NEG109T | i7-8550/8G/512G PCIE/MX150 2G/WIN10/FHD/WV | RM5,499 |
| UX331U-NEG103T | i5-8250/8G/256G/MX150 2G/WIN10/FHD/WV | RM3,999 |
With these hardware combined with ASUS’s latest NanoEdge display technology, it’s a decent video editing machine while on the plane or something along those lines. ASUS promises 100% sRGB for the 1080p IPS panel that’s found on the UX331UN too.
And for such a low price for the i5 variant, I’m sure the ZenBook 13 (UX331UN) will capture hearts of many ultraportable lovers. Macbook Air veterans like in particular, actually.
Hey – it supports the ASUS Pen too!
