Just in a while the Sony Xperia Z is no longer the best of Sony anymore. The new Sony Xperia ZR is set to replace the Xperia Z, with a 4.6-inch, 720p (1280×720 pixels) display which runs on a Snapdragon S4 quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 2GB RAM with LTE and NFC with also all things Sony.
So what makes the Xperia Z no longer the best of Sony in a smartphone? Water resistance. The Xperia ZR can now submerge as deep as 1.5 meter – that’s half a meter deeper than the Xperia Z, has a dedicated camera button with the same rear camera as the Xperia Z, capable of HDR video and pictures under its 13MP camera.
Engadget also quoted from the source that the Xperia ZR is the international version of the Japan’s unreleased A SO-O4E.
Currently there are no prices, availability or any other further information yet, but quoted that Sony will try to be prepared for summer.
