In the pursuit of exquisite technological gadgets that look pretty and functions phenomenally, Transcend just announced a brand new external hard disk – the StoreJet 25C3S – the first in their new lineup of external hard disks in the its latest addition to the StoreJet Luxury series. It features a luxury aluminium alloy housing and USB 3.1 Gen. 1 Type-C port for good speeds too.
In all seriousness, the StoreJet 25C3S somewhat looks like the StoreJet 25C3N that we reviewed a while ago. The new StoreJet 25C3S however, is only at 9.95mm thin and has a whiter color too. Its aluminium alloy housing is polished, sandblasted, then anodized to give it an everlasting finish. The edges are also CNC-milled and the Transcend logo is embossed.
Weighing in at just 133g, it is perfect for those who need a fast external storage on the go. That is because the StoreJet 25C3S has a USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C and has a theoretical maximum bandwidth of up to 5Gb/s with the help of UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol).
Transcend included two cables together with the StoreJet 25C3S – a USB-C to USB-C port or a more conventional USB-A to USB-A port for devices that do not have USB-C. It is available in up to 2TB of storage capacity.
Transcend’s iconic Transcend Elite and RecoveRx software are also bundled with the StoreJet 25C3S. Transcend Elite is advanced data management software that keeps important files organized, protected, and up-to-date. It can even protect files with a powerful 256-bit AES encryption so that data are kept safe from any unauthorized access. RecoveRx is a free data recovery utility that allows you to search deep within a storage device for traces of erased files including digital photos, documents, music, and videos. Both the software can be downloaded from Transcend’s website for free.
The Transcend StoreJet 25C3S portable hard drive is offered in 1TB and 2TB capacities and backed by Transcend’s Three-year Limited Warranty.
