As a big fan of Star Wars, I believe everyone is familiar with the light saber – at least those from my generation. As a reality, we are just one step closer to own a personal light saber!!!
This powerful 3-watt laser, made from a diode taken out of a DLP(digital light processing) projector bolted to two high-powered lithium-ion laptop batteries. This baby is capable of burning straight through paper, cardboard, wood, and even a ping pong ball.

This laser uses the new 9mm, 450nm laser diode and runs on two 18650 Li Ion batteries. The housing is a custom machined “Sirius” host. I usually try to refrain from using the term “lightsaber” when referring to my lasers but there really isn’t much else out there to describe this laser.

To summarize, this light saber may not be as deadly as a real light saber in Star Wars, but then again I hope this light saber would be use for a right purpose in the future.
