When it comes to Chromebooks in Malaysia, it’s pretty much the least known type of laptops. If you don’t know, Chromebooks are laptops created by Google and runs on the Chrome OS – literally an interface that looks like the Chrome browser interface where you complete all your task at.
Yes, being the first one to bring in 4G LTE connectivity to Malaysia is now offering an exclusive Samsung 4G Chromebook at only just RM988, which is under a 24 month contract with a 3.5GB monthly data quota and a monthly fee of RM88. The Chromebook itself is at a recommended retail price of RM1,299.
Sure, the plan is a little expensive but then again, you’re getting 4G’s super speed – well, assuming that you need that much though. Chromebooks do indeed need a constant Internet connection to work in its top notch condition, otherwise it’s completely useless.
Coming back to Yes’s plan, it is stated as below.
Yes made the plan for the Samsung 4G Chromebook a little extra spicy with a price cut, then adds up the advance payment which makes it exactly the same price as the recommended retail price – only now with the 4G LTE connection. Then, of course you’ll have to pay up the fees monthly.
As of now though, many areas are already in coverage by Yes 4G, but then again I still think the price is a little too high and usage is very limited since you have such high speed, but you have quite a low monthly data quota to begin with. Maybe it’ll be better to get a laptop with SIM card slot for now, or just tether from your mobile device.
