Media reporters waiting for the latest news surrounding the recent political fiasco are spooked by the arrival of Xiaomi employees bringing in boxes of unknown content. Turns out it was power banks all along and surely reporters appreciate the block of portable juice for their devices.

Which Power Bank they’re giving away, you asked?

The power bank in question actually is the Redmi PB200LZM model.

This particular model can hold 20000mAh of power while providing 18W of fast charging capability. With its dual USB output design, it is perfect for reporters who usually carry at least 2 mobile devices for photographing and communication. Its compact build of 154mm x 73.6mm x 27.3mm makes it easy to carry and not feeling bulky as well.

Xiaomi has made the good decision of supporting the local scene through this surprise raid of free items which is appreciated and at the right timing. The other way around would be showing up to a competitor’s event and shove your brand to their loyal customer on the spot, just like when Huawei gave out their own power banks to people who queue for iPhone XS, which is great for sensational news piece but kind of misses the point when the customers are willing to line up for some other brands.
