Here comes a new challenger that plans to disrupt the entry-level smartphone market as Wiko announces their latest View4 Lite model which is a nerfed version of their existing View4 variant.

It’s quite surprising to see Wiko reappearing in the Malaysian market again, given that the smartphone market right now is very saturated.

Wiko View4 Lite

First off, let’s run through its specs and find out what’s inside.

• 6.52-inch IPS LCD with 720p resolution and waterdrop notch
• MediaTek Helio A25
• 2GB RAM
• 64GB internal storage (expandable to 256GB via microSD)
• Dual rear-facing cameras
  • Main: 13MP
  • Depth sensor
• 5MP selfie camera
• 4,000mAh battery
• 3 Colors: Deep Blue, Deep Green, Deep Gold

Just by running through the spec sheet, it is quite formidable for what it provides at this price range. With the recent availability of the Samsung Galaxy A01 at RM449 and the realme C3 at RM499 which we have already reviewed, customers now have more options when picking an entry-level smartphone, which most manufacturers have to prioritize more on functionality and user experience (UX) since low-power chips are not designed to do something really well but everything at the bare minimum.

Comparing various spec numbers against the View4, it seems that Wiko is at the upper hand here. However, software optimizations, usability, bloatware, and build quality also factor into the overall opinion of smartphones. For example, some people don’t mind paying a little bit extra if they get to use Samsung’s One UI 2.0.

The Wiko View4 Lite will go on sale exclusive on Lazada starting 17 March for RM399 and the first 3 days will get an additional discount, down to RM339. What’s more, you can even get it at RM1 when their Official Lazada Store reaches a certain follower milestone which 1 unit will be offered at 3,900 followers while another 2 units at 4,500 followers.
