Freedom of speech is something that we truly value. We all have a voice and we should speak up. But deep inside me feel like some people shouldn’t have that voice – or at least they need to pass some exams before given the platform to voice out their thoughts and opinions. Keri Hilson thinks that 5G causes coronavirus, and we need to “disable LTE” right now.

There are so many things wrong in this single tweet. Check it out here. Click here if the tweet got deleted.

For some reason, Keri Hilson thinks that since 5G and the coronavirus are from China, then 5G must have caused the coronavirus. But this is so far from the truth. 5G is not developed by China. That snippet of text that Keri Hilson screenshotted and drew a circle over is from Wikipedia. Even that is unrelated to her question.

But oh no, that’s not all. She did a double-down on her “5G = coronavirus” claim. Look at this tweet. Click here if the tweet got deleted.

She even claims that electromagnetic radiation is 5G and it could be causing the virus. I have no idea how she correlates both of them together, by the way.

I graduated in electronics engineering majoring in nanotechnology. These tweets triggered me more than it should. There are just so many things wrong with it.

Energy from electromagnetic radiation is all around us. Light is electromagnetic radiation too. She is saying that studies have proven that there is harmful electronic magnetic radiation coming out of our phones that damages cell membranes and “releases cancer-causing free radicals”.

If a smartphone is powerful enough to cause deaths, there wouldn’t be so many smartphones in the world right now.

Obviously, this is not true. For electromagnetic waves to cause cancer is to damage your DNA. So far, it has been proven time and time again the electromagnetic radiation from your phones just isn’t strong enough to cause those types of damages.

Can you imagine the trouble these smartphone brands have to go through if their phones actually cause cancer and kill people? No – because there are lots of safety and regulation checks per device to make sure everything is within the safety limit.

So please, Keri Hilson. Don’t tweet these kinds of rubbish “facts” to your followers. Even WiFi is a form of electromagnetic radiation.

By the way, LTE is not 5G. 5G is 5G. LTE is somewhat 4G. Get your terminologies right.
