Xiaomi is now focusing on 5G and AIoT technologies – and the company is fully moving forward into 5G with a total of 3 new smartphones. Yes, all 3 new smartphones from Xiaomi are equipped with 5G connectivity. And yes, there are a total of 3 new devices – that’s why Xiaomi is calling it the “Mi 10 series”.

There are a total of two phones, but the last phone is a bit of a mystery. So let’s talk about both the Mi 10 and the Mi 10 Pro first.

Mi 10 & Mi 10 Pro highlights

Most of the specs and features on the Mi 10 and the Mi 10 Pro are very similar. For example, they both have 108MP sensor, can take videos of up to 8K at 30fps, has the new ShootSteady video stabilizing technology, and also comes with the capability of taking LOG videos. As a videographer myself, LOG videos is a boon to have.

One interesting feature is the addition of a hardware flicker sensor. It’s a bit difficult to explain. For those who tried to take videos or pictures of a screen before, then you can see the image looks ugly as there are lines and bands of brightness and darkness. This hardware flicker sensor can detect that and solve that for you.

The Mi 10 series also has dual-speakers. One at the top, and another at the bottom. I’d personally still prefer two front-facing speakers but this is the next best thing that we can have. No audio jack, though.
