Out of nowhere, there is a lot of leaked information about the upcoming Galaxy Note20 and also the Galaxy Fold 2 – and I am very interested. Being a big fan of the original Galaxy Fold, there are hints that its successor will have a lot of upgrades.
Ross Young, who is the founder and CEO of the Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), went on Twitter and even an interview to talk about both the Galaxy Fold 2 and the Galaxy Note20 series. Despite being focused on displays, Young also shared information regarding the S Pen.

The new Galaxy Fold 2 is said to have a 7.59-inch main display with a resolution of 2213×1689 with 120Hz refresh rate, circular cutout notch, and of course – Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) like what we’ve seen on the Galaxy Z Flip (review).
As for the cover display, the Galaxy Fold 2 is said to have a much larger 6.23-inch display with 2267×819 pixels in resolution, making is an extremely long display.
Young has also placed a lot of emphasis on the LTPO backplane technology – which claims to save from 10% to 20% of power as it allows the refresh rate to be varied, even varying it to 1Hz. This is particularly useful for features like always-on display (AOD) which will benefit heavily from this technology.
Young also hinted that the upcoming Galaxy Fold 2 to have an S Pen inside – which is something that we really hope it will happen.
The leak also stated that the price of the Galaxy Fold 2 will be also cheaper than its predecessor.
Young has also said that the Galaxy Note20 will be having a 6.42-inch display with a 2345×1084 pixels in resolution with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio with LTPO technology. This leak also mentioned that the Galaxy Note20 will only have a 60Hz refresh rate in favor of lowering the price.
On the other hand, the Galaxy Note20+ is said to have a 6.87-inch display with 3096×1444 pixels with an aspect ratio of 19.3:9 with up to 120Hz refresh rate, with LTPO technology too.
Also, Young mentioned that the Galaxy Note20 will not have an “Ultra” version like the Galaxy S20 Ultra (our review here).
Like any other leaks, things may change over time as there should be still a few more months to go before the predicted launch date of the Galaxy Fold 2 and the Galaxy Note20 series. So, take these information with a grain of salt.
