LG certainly has quite a few devices coming up as far as we know. Nonetheless, the manufacturers of the Nexus 4 continues to innovate on its own products, hoping that Google might return to LG for another flagship device.

The LG G2 has a new leak saying that this is actually the upcoming LG Optimus G2 that is scheduled to be launched on 7 August, with the name most probably simplified to only LG G2. Source said that the phone comes with on-screen buttons instead of capacitive keys. Despite that, the buttons are also very squished; taking up minimum amount of pixels for the navigation bar.

As you can see from the humongous-sized screenshot above, the LG G2 features a full-fledged 1080p display, and source said that the bezel of the screen is also at minimal width, giving it “an impressive edge-to-edge display”. I wonder how still will fare out since LG does make great IPS display televisions too.

Another thing to note from the source is that the buttons are allegedly moved to the back of the phone – that means the power button and volume rocker are at the back, not the sides.

Until now, we only know the media event date, which is 7 August, and no other information is available yet.

Stay tuned until 7 August for full details!
