The social media that’s famous for its square grid photos with numerous filters recently got an update and is now having a feature that is directly competing with Twitter’s Vine, a short video sharing service. That was much like an extrapolated feature from the short message-sharing service master, but Facebook, who owns Instagram now, also got this feature.
Instagram got their new feature out and people uploaded 5 million videos within 24 hours! In a short comparison, Twitter’s Vine has over 13 million users and reported a million video uploads per day. In another comparison, Instagram has 130 million users, whereas Twitter has 200 million regular users.
We are all seeing a large percentage of very active users on Instagram compared to Twitter when it comes to their new video-sharing app. There is also another reason is that Instagram was just updated to have videos supported, unlike Twitter which made a spinoff app for its video sharing.
Have you uploaded your first video on either of the platforms yet? I surely did see a lot of videos posted up on Instagram and I personally think that Instagram’s way of showing its videos is far more convenient than Twitter.
