Around 2 weeks ago, we got our hands on the release of the HONOR MagicBook 14 that comes with Ryzen 5 3500U, 8GB RAM, and 256GB SSD storage for a low price of RM2,499. Despite having a higher price than the original MagicBook, its price to performance proposition speaks great value especially for students and jobs who mostly perform documenting tasks.
Many laptops with this list of spec have one common downside – that 8GB RAM. In 2020, it’s like a minimum requirement in my opinion where multitasking is fairly essential and with the number of Chrome tabs being opened these days, I would say that 16GB is the sweet spot here.
The 256GB SSD would be as snappy as it should be but after ruling out Windows 10 OS and storage overhead, you are left with barely 200GB of raw space for storing your files which is quite not enough in the long run.
And HONOR is aware of this situation and has released an all-new buffed up model that comes with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD that charges you for an extra RM500, placing it at RM2,999. If you need this modern-day standard config and have a wider budget, you could consider this for your next purchase. Hey, you don’t even need to do the upgrade the memory and storage by yourself as HONOR has done it for you.
You can either place your order starting July 24 through the HiHonor online store or through any physical HONOR Experience Store and you’ll get the following freebies depending on the chosen platform:
- HiHonor: HONOR Bluetooth Mouse, HONOR BackPack, HONOR Watch Magic/Sport Pro
- HONOR Experience Store: HONOR BlueTooth Mouse, HONOR BackPack, HONOR Scale 2
