TikTok has gone a long way and while many things happened, the list of activities organized within Malaysia is still a lot like many of the challenges and campaigns are dedicated to our culture and the current trends surrounding our daily lives.
Therefore, on September 15 the social media platform went down a memory trip to celebrate the trends, stories, songs, and conversations that started and popularized within the platform and subsequently became viral to the rest of the Internet.
Culture is what defines the uniqueness of a country. TikTok has provided Malaysians a vibrant, positive, and safe platform that lets users let loose their creativity and imagination and express the deep meaning and vivid cultures of our country from food, beauty, fashion, film, arts, and more. The collaboration between TikTok and the Penang Global Tourism launched the #ExperiencePenang initiative while festival celebrations such as #Raya2020 and #KitaBersama is about unity, the #thinkb4youdo campaign promotes online safety, draw greater attention to the dangers of posting harmful content on the platform, and outline ways to combat cyberbullying.
Anything can become viral and positive as long as its fun and challenging. One of the coolest and most popular Malaysian born challenges is the #HeadDanceChallenge started by Afiq Hakim managed to reach world-class virality and so many users across the globe involved in this fun little tryout.
TikTok is also the place to show off talents and display every form of masterful expression of unique ability to do certain things. Harith Zazman showed us his hit song “Cute” and that single video pretty much jumpstarted his stardom on the platform and hope he continues to make more of these.
Lastly, video clips are about preserving memories and each precious moment is worth the time to be recorded and shared among friends, families, and even to the rest of the world if you really want to. On the other hand, people are constantly learning new things and discovering new facts every day by simply watch through educational clips.
Why don’t you let everybody else know how did you start off your TikTok journey as well? If you can, explain them through a simple clip and submit them with the #ItStartsOnTikTok tag and let us know how its community changed your life too.
