Edifier has introduced a new and improved version of GM4 gaming TWS, the GM5 alongside R1280 DBs bookshelf speakers with better and greater features.
Starting with the GM5, it now features the new Qualcomm aptX Adaptive audio codec and standards that allow the latency to be lessened to as low as 40ms while providing the long-standing high-quality audio it is famous for thanks to the 12mm diaphragm drivers. The Gaming Mode and Music Mode still stick around with dedicated EQ profiles and Dual Mic is always good for canceling ambient noises. The 500mAh battery provides 8 hours of battery life while the casing will hold 32 hours worth of power.
We have already tested aptX Adaptive codec before – and the audio latency is amazingly low. That is to be expected since it combines and is able to switch between aptX HD and also aptX Low Latency according to what you’re doing.
Next up, the R1280 DBs bookshelf speaker can now play acoustic audios with greater quality while the wireless connection quality has been enhanced. Despite overall performance improvement, the MDF woof enclosure is still the staple signature traced way back to the original R1280. Now each speaker unit holds a 4-inch bass driver with a front-facing bass reflex port that complements more punch and force to the music while the studio-grade silk dome tweeter is capable of pushing a wide range of high frequency with much lower distortion.
With a combined might of 42W RMS total power delivery, the R1280 DBs is a good balance powerhouse of music enjoyment. For the total mad lads, the sub-out output port lets you connect a dedicated subwoofer as well.o, optical and coaxial, it can serve devices from TVs, PCs, smartphones, to a home audio system.
