There are lots of TWS earbuds in the market right now – and this is the OPPO Enco W51. Its design is familiar yet different at the same time, but it offers a lot of premium features at a relatively low price. We did review the OPPO Enco Free about a year ago, and I absolutely loved that.
The new OPPO Enco W51 is technically an improved version of the Enco Free, but with lower price and more features.
All in all, the design of the OPPO Enco W51 is sleeker than before. It’s thin now and has an overall premium look to it. The case is, however, in glossy white plastic which means it will get scratches easily.
The earbuds themselves aren’t particularly different from many other designs we’ve seen before – but they’re using oblong-shaped eartips instead. We’re seeing many more premium earbuds moving towards oblong-shaped eartips because it offers a much better seal around the ear canal – because our ears aren’t perfectly circular, to begin with.
OPPO included a total of 4 different sizes – and that means you can get it to fit in your ear as close to perfection as possible.
Also, it’s important to choose the best fit for your ear so that the ANC feature can be as perfect as it can be. Yes, the OPPO Enco W51 does come with ANC as well – which is surprisingly quite good, honestly.
Since it is using a stem design, the microphone points downwards toward my mouth – and that means the microphone should be better than other earbuds. And throughout our test – which you need to watch the review at the top of this review to know – sounds pretty good.
By the way, there’s also wireless charging – if you’re into that feature.
Finally, for the price of RM369, the OPPO Enco W51 is definitely in a territory that I’d consider to be premium but also affordable at the same time. Sure, there’s no app to configure the EQ or customize the touch controls – but hey, it has ANC and it does its job pretty well and yet it sounds great too.
So, I’ll consider the OPPO Enco W51 to be a premium, no-fuss premium TWS that offers great ANC and fantastic audio quality. But, that’s all you’re getting and there is no leeway in terms of customization.
