Let’s say you have access to a 3D printer and the one thing you want to do is to replicate an object so bad but you just can’t seem to do it successfully during the digital 3D design. Well, there are couple of 3D scanners out there but they are either expensive or bulky.

Now, Fuel3D enables anyone with the handheld 3D scanner to literally scan anything and convert it into a full, digital 3D model which can then be printed using the 3D printer. I would like to call this replication . The company is working on the prototype stage right now but a recent video shows that it does work. The next-generation model will certainly be more polished and easier to use.

The price starts at 990 USD (approximately RM 3,200) for the first batch which you can participate on Kickstarter. It is expected to ship somewhere in July 2014.
