Do you think DDR5 is fast? Well, DDR4 still has something to say about that as the latest world record has been broken and refreshed to a new top number.
Announced by Kingston, the latest world record frequency at 7156MHz was achieved using a setup of Intel Core i9-11900K, MSI MEG Z590I UNITY motherboard, and 8GB of Kingston HyperX Predator 4600MHz stick. Submission made by Kovan Yang, the overclocker from Taiwan, has been verified by CPU-Z validator alongside HWBOT which are 2 of the most used and trusted sites for overclocking results.
With DDR5 coming into the consumer market as early as next year, some enthusiast overclockers have done the deed to discover and challenge the maximum potential of the current DDR4 specification. Perhaps with generational leaps across various numbers as well as the integration of crucial features packed into DDR5, we could see explosive numbers that might as well make it into the 10000MHz zone? Well, only time will tell.
