Acer Malaysia has finally taken a big step in speeding up the deployment of Chromebooks through the Chrome Education and Zero-Touch Enrollment upgrade.
Part of the good news is that Malaysia has been chosen as one of the earliest countries to adopt these upgrades as these features need to be first engaged and discussed with Google to make sure every step of the process goes smoothly. If you don’t know what these 2 features do, the Chrome Education Upgrade basically adds extra software and licenses to make sure they are ready for digital education the moment a student turns on the device while the Zero-Touch Enrollment automatically adds the device into the associated institute’s domain and subsequently allow access to many of their internal services in which the device performs the domain registration and check-in during first boot.
As Acer’s Chromebooks come in a variety of models and configurations, the Chrome Education Upgrade can be added with a flat fee of RM350 while the Zero-Touch Enrollment is handled by IT departments of an education institute.
