Some of you might have caught news of the POCO M3 device getting bricked by its latest update and you might be one of the unlucky guys involved in this mess.
For those who are lucky and usually hesitant to perform a system update, please do not update your device as of now because some users have reported that this brick is a complete brick and not your usual boot loop error that usually can be fixed through a clean ROM flash. Simply saying, the Android kernel may be completely busted thanks to the update. Possible, but unlikely.
Thankfully, Xiaomi Malaysia has responded quickly with an official statement, offering a full refund or replacement should you be one of the unfortunate collateral damage of this accident.
For those who are facing the issue, we will be repairing, exchanging or providing a full refund to those who are affected, on a case-by-case basis.
You can head over to the Repair/Service page on Xiaomi’s website to get help from the portal or contact them directly either through their email or telephone number at 1800-81-2486.
We can only hope that all the data that were stored locally within those devices can still be retrieved. RIP M3 sales for the moment.
