DJI Malaysia is going to bring in a new practical and easy-to-operate smartphone stabilizer, the DJI OM 5 to elevate the content creation process utilizing smartphones.
Thanks to DJI’s effort in normalizing premium features, the OM 5 is equipped with the signature 3-axis gimbal mechanism to provide a stable yet customizable shooting angle that also contributes to the compactness of the entire structure. The clamp which is also newly designed is made to complement smartphones with cases so that you don’t need to take them off just to fit into the stabilizer so you can say goodbye to accidental scratches and bumps that happened from overclampping.
The OM5 is completely usable for anybody including newbies and seasoned vloggers through the large customizable appreciated by the pros and up to 30 sets of presets/tutorials that will help novices to get all the good shots easily. Additionally, the new version ActiveTrack 4.0 now supports face tracking up to 3x zoom at 5m/s while steadily following and centering the target. The following features can also be found in the OM 5 that is quite similar to other offerings.
- Gesture Control – Start or stop recording through hand gestures
- DynamicZoom – Automatic zooming optimized to create dramatic background shift
- Timelapse, Motionlapse, Hyperlapse – Either show the passing of time, timed gimbal movements, or taking it into your own hands with several lapsing functions to your shots
- Panoramas – 3×3, 240-degree or “Cloning” to set up a unique and creative scenario
- Spin Shot Gimbal Movement – Control the gimbal through the DJI Mimo app
- Story Mode Templates: Pick a preset profile of gimbal movements without additional configuration needed
- Glamour – Automatic touchup and customize parameter settings to your desire
Revealed together with the OM 5 is the Fill Light Phone Clamp that essentially adds a light source directly onto the stabilizer by clamping magnetically.
Pricing and Availability
Available in colors of Sunset White and Athens Gray, the new DJI OM 5 retails at the price of RM689 that includes a magnetic clamp, tripod, power cable, wrist strap, and storage pouch. Preorders for the Athens Gray model will start on September 15 on DJI’s Lazada and Shopee page while the Sunset White initiates during late September. Meanwhile, the Fill Light Phone Clamp can get obtained at the price of RM199 starting late October.
