Samsung has announced that users around the world have accumulated a total number of 100 million find nodes with the help of SmartThings Find.
Powered by the brand’s SmartThings ecosystem, the “find nodes” count is basically how many times a misplaced device was found using the SmartThings Find feature that syncs the item detection system through a combination of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Ultra -Wide Band (UWB) with all nearby and compatible devices to form a search group with the searching range going as far as you can place them within a reasonable distance. Thanks to this, a total of 100 million items was located just short of a full-year launch since last October.
Aside from this, the new SmartThings Find Member service essentially creates a private circle for your friends and families that can go up to 19 users and locate a maximum of 200 devices at once. While the number can feel a bit silly for your average family, it can be super useful in industrial deployments such as employee dormitories and factories.
While a lot of the SmartThings products are contributing to this milestone, we can’t forget what made this come true in the first place – the Galaxy SmartTag. Take a look at our review of how the tiny little thing can potentially transform, or at the very least improve and realize how a smart home should and actually be.
