Epic Games has announced that they are going to elevate the digital content creation scene in Malaysia by introducing formal and ample support to the industry.

With more and more outstanding creations made by fellow Malaysia-based rising stars, the industry is expected to grow a CAGR of 8% by 2025 and that’s a significant figure thanks to the contribution from the gaming, animation, media, and entertainment industries. With the backing of the government, specifically, the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) to further bolster the sector, Epic Games has found the budding market as a chance for it to invest into it by opening up channels for accessing its Unreal Engine software.

Leveraging next-generation technology, real-time rendering that involves 3D visualization is basically the way to go for delivering content that is both attractive and engaging. Epic Game’s responsibility in this also covers the educational part through online training programs and development courses for newbies and professionals who are looking to get started using the brand’s famous engine. To encourage the creation of things that are more innovative and ambitious, Epic Games is also happy to provide capital and funding alongside technical expertise towards teams and studios to realize the next potential title of the year.

With the update debuted in August, the Unreal Engine 4.27 contains new key features that can help creators across game dev, animation, film, entertainment, and media to harness greater visual effects that include in-camera visual effects geared towards virtual/augmented production, multi-user collaborating environment, lighting enhancements and ray tracing to bring life-like virtual experiences to a wide range of audience.

With all of these, perhaps Epic Games is aiming for a service of full suite covering game development + publishing + platform support kind of offering towards Malaysian studios? If true, this is really a great thing to look forward to.
