While Samsung has won the last foldable war against HUAWEI, a new challenger appears as OPPO showcases the brand new OPPO Find N during the 2nd day of its annual OPPO INNO DAY event where lots of exciting products of conceptual and manifested are revealed to the world.
Placing the same expectation of foldable smart devices as the next generation ubiquitous companion, let’s start off with the main highlight: The foldable screen. For once and for the first time in history, it is running a landscape ratio of 8.4:9 comprising of a 7.1-inch inner and 5.49-inch outer display combo to make the unfolding experience much more seamless because as soon as the user unpacks and goes for the inner screen, the landscape ratio is already there to serve things like videos, games, and E-books without the need for extra steps. Meanwhile, the outer 18:9 long screen still provides a traditional candy bar experience just like any other smartphone out there.
Connecting the dots of the foldable screen is the Flexion Hinge comprised of 136 components that can handle angles of up to 120° and as little movement as 0.01mm thanks to the unique water-drop design that solves one of the foldable’s prominent issues by creating a buffer zone when the display folds that results in minimum crease and 80% less noticeable for a more integrated look and additional protection towards the inner display from scratches.
On the other hand, the 12-layer Serene Display provides superior durability and protection through 0.03mm Flexion Ultra-Thin Glass for easy bending and absolute toughness with more than 200,000 total folding times with little to no crease, verified by TUV. All of these efforts in creating a foldable device are given to software optimizations as well by naturally transiting apps between folded and unfolded mode, support for Side-By-Side multitasking, and more to take productivity levels towards the roof.

Well, the Chinese release has seen it getting tagged with an RMB7,699 figure which is around RM5,116.04, and oh boy that’s like a thousand cheaper than the current hottest foldable in the market – the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 5G.
