Over in China, HONOR has officially revealed the HONOR Magic V, the first member of foldable smartphones for the brand that consolidates new designs and dynamic performance.
Utilizing a special advanced ultra slim floating waterdrop hinge, the Magic V can achieve a wider exterior display fitted with features and functionality unique to the device powered by Magic UI 6.0. Rocking a 6.45-inch curved OLED display at 44-degrees when folded, the aspect ratio expands to 21.3:9 while staying creaseless on top of the 100% DCIP-P3 color gamut, 120Hz refresh rate characteristics for an immersive experience rivaling tablets – the main point of foldable smartphones at current times.
Crafted with high-strength titanium alloy, zirconium liquid metals, and high-strength
carbon fibers, the device is super lightweight yet durable which earned itself the IMAX Enhanced certification. Needless to say, the Magic V is also packed with the strongest performing computing parts which are the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 5G SoC, 12GB RAM, and up to 512GB of storage with some of the new proprietary tech such as LINK Turbo X that boasts faster download speed and AI-controlled thermal management system.
For the camera department, the backside consists of a quad-camera array with a 50MP main and a 42MP front with 3 modes of Night, HDR, and Zoom powered by the HONOR Image Engine to deliver a great multi-camera computational photograph. As for the battery, it is a 4,750mAh brick with a 66W fast charge rating.
Debuting with the Magic UI 6.0 is the Magic Live backend processing algorithm with a rich feature set of context awareness, profile prediction, knowledge graph, and more in order to mold the Magic V into a personal assistant through machine learning so as time goes, the Magic Live will become more powerful and smart through future updates. On the other hand, the dual security system of HTEE and QTEE will be holding all the sensitive data securely with an extra independent chip storing things like passwords and biometrics.
Colors and Pricing
The HONOR Magic V is announced in 3 colors of Black, Space Silver, and Burnt Orange with a price tag of RMB9,999 (~RM6,589.18) for 12GB+256GB and RMB10,999 (~RM7,248.10) for 12+512GB.
