Samsung utilizes discarded fishing nets from the sea to recycle plastics into Galaxy devices

Samsung has announced its new initiative in reducing ocean-bound plastics by recycling them into a part of Galaxy devices.

Starting from the line of products that will be revealed during the Galaxy Unpacked event slated for February 9, Samsung is repurposing ocean-bound discarded fishing nets that were being dumped into the ocean to get the needed plastic material for manufacturing Galaxy devices. With around 640,000 tons of the fishing equipment being thrown into the mass water every year, imagine how many marine lives have been trapped and entangled by these “ghost nets”.
