Acer has announced that they have updated the popular Swift lineup of notebooks with the 12th Gen Intel Core processors alongside other quality-of-life improvements to meet the needs of mobile professionals.
Take one look and you’ll notice that the Swift 5 has been crafted to be in line with some of the premium business laptops thanks to the CNC-machined unibody chassis made of aerospace-grade aluminum adopting a Black/Gold color palette with the inside rocking a 12th Gen Intel Core mobile CPU of up to 12 cores with the Iris Xe Graphics paired with a maximum of 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 2TB of PCIe 4.0 storage. Rounding up the specs are the FHD MIPI webcam that portrays clear video footage of the user, the OceanGlass touchpad that is made from ocean-bound plastic, Windows Hello-enabled fingerprint reader, and a 10-hour battery life where all of them meets the requirements of the Intel Evo Platform.
That’s not all as the Swift 5 2022 edition is also the first time the series gets a touch screen display with a resolution of 2560×1600 at 16:10 aspect ratio for superior clarity and usable screen estate in addition to the layer of Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass protecting the surface against those cheeky little things. For the I/O ports, it comes with two Thunderbolt 4, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, and an HDMI 2.1.
Those that want a more compact form factor can go for the Swift 3 2022 instead, similarly equipped with the latest 12 Gen Intel Core mobile processors and up to 2TB of SSD storage lighting up a decent 16:9 QHD or FHD touch display and a more budget yet usable FHD webcam with Acer’s TNR technology for better video calls. While the premium Thunderbolt 4 port is gone, it still has USB-C, USB-A, and HDMI 2.
Global Pricing
While local pricing is not yet finalized, Acer has revealed that the new Swift 5 laptop will be available in the coming days starting at USD1,499 while the Swift 3 is at USD849.99.
